Alzheimer’s disease

Women experience twice the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in their senior life. My group is working with sporadic AD patient derived iPSC and sex and age matched controls to understand the microglia specific phenotypes in AD in a sex specific manner. We are focusing on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and genes, which escape X inactivation to explore the diverse microglia responses, which could lead to higher susceptibility of AD in women.
